Mohamed Jaward, Head of Environmental Management
Mohamed Jaward is a multi-skilled consultant with years of experience and expertise in providing services and solutions to both the public and private sectors with INTEGEMS. He has profound skills and technical expertise in Air Quality emission data collection and analysis; Occupational Health assessment, Clean Energy; Natural Resource Management, including Coastal ecology and Geomorphology, Climate Change Mitigation & Adaptation, water quality, Biodiversity, Soils, and environmental acoustics, and Hazard Assessment & Disaster Management.
During his time at INTEGEMS, he has worked on various environment and natural resources management projects including Vulnerability studies. He has led and developed field protocols, ESHIA’s, study methodologies and standard procedures, and Environmental Management Plans (EMP) for various projects; including; IFC and other financial institutional sponsored Projects, United Nations, the Government of Sierra Leone, and private institutions. Mohamed possesses strong analytic skills in SPSS, ODK, GIS, Survey123 for ArcGIS, Collector for ArcGIS, and the World Bank CAPI/CAPWI survey programs; as tools for seamless delivery of Projects; Excellent communication skills in presenting scientific findings and putting together technical and non-technical reports. Outstanding leadership, self-discipline, interpersonal skills, and problem-solving savvy.
Mohamed is well abreast with Sierra Leone’s Second National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (2017-2026) and global environmental management requirements and standards including the International Finance Corporation (IFC) Performance Standards, the Equator Principles, the World Bank Group Environmental and Social Safety Safeguards, the World Health Organisation (WHO) Guidelines and other relevant national and international protocols and treaties.
Mohamed holds a Bachelor’s degree with Honours in Environmental Management and Quality Control (EMQC) from Njala University. He has completed a series of training and attended seminars and workshops to complement his academic and professional excellence. He recently completed the WBG Environmental and Social Framework - ESF Fundamentals and Managing Environmental and Social Performance training programs
