Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) of an Oil Palm Plantation and Milling Facilities for Natural Habitats (SL) Ltd in Makpele Chiefdom, Pujehun District, Sierra Leone

INTEGEMS was contracted, in partnership with Digby-Wells Consulting Firm, by Natural Habitat Sierra Leone Ltd, to carry out an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) of their 17,600ha proposed Oil Palm Plantation and its accompanying facilities in Makpele Chiefdom, Pujehun District. INTEGEMS is carrying out the ESIA from Screening, through Scoping, Baseline, Impact Assessment and Public Consultation and Disclosure Phases with Technical contributions from Digby-Wells in view of meeting Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) standards. Emphasis is placed on Stakeholder Engagement throughout the ESIA Process. The final output of the ESIA study will result in Natural Habitat being awarded and Environmental Licences to operate and proceed with large scale planting of oil palm trees.
